For the Congregation of Sisters of St. Martha, education is the important weapon to form a human life in accordance with the will of God. Nelson Mandela says “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” In this fashion, it is one of the extensive apostolate of CSM to change one’s life and society at large. Every family becomes the first school as education for a child begins at home. Education certainly determines the quality of a person’s life improves one’s knowledge, skills. It also develops the personality and attitude of every individual.

Our apostolate in the field of education is of vital importance. The aim of our education is to impart sound education by forming the children in good habits of piety, virtue, discipline and self-reliance during the years of their studies. Our sisters are involved in this apostolate as guiding light in their surroundings. They take active interest in the character formation and personality development of the students and earnestly communicate gospel values to the staff, students and parents through their teaching and witnessing lives.

Education is a ray of light in the darkness. It certainly is a hope for a good life. According to the constitution of India, the right to preliminary education is a fundamental right. CSM has a rainbow of educational institutions under its two provinces. We run nursery and primary classes where the hearts of the little ones are kindled with flames of wisdom and love of God. We serve in other corporate management schools and in our own aided schools in Malayalam, English, Hindi and Tamil Medium etc.

With definite motto of “catch the young” the education ministry is focused in rendering the pre- primary education. Our little ones are kindled with the wisdom of God. We serve in the schools that belong to different dioceses, congregation and those owned by other agencies.

Our sisters are engaged in the teaching ministry in the mission centres in Odisha and Arunachal Pradesh where there is shortage of teachers. When empathy and compassion are present along with intelligence, training, knowledge of subject and creativity, the learning environment is enhanced and the children bloom brilliantly. Our Founder V. Rev. Fr. John Kizhakoodan instructed us, “Not to reject anyone”. Inspired by this thought, we the followers of the founder, work towards the spiritual and temporal betterment of the families, villages and even nations through the education.

We serve in corporate management schools, our own aided schools in Malayalam and English Medium, Nursery schools etc. We take active interest in the character formation and personality development of the students. Also our sisters earnestly impart gospel values to the staff, students and parents through their teaching and a witnessing life. To make character formation possible, our sisters have personal contact with the students. They also visit the homes of the students. Our trained sisters provide counselling sessions to the needed students thus giving them consolation and spiritual renewal.
